Personal Leadership: Making a World of Difference

Making a World of Difference- Personal Leadership

You are invited to join creative leaders from around the world who wish to strengthen their capacity to stay connected to their wisdom and inspiration, especially when faced with the new and unfamiliar. The new and unfamiliar happens in many contexts, for example, as we engage in personal and/or professional change or transition; as we live and work across cultures, whether internationally or domestically; and as we lead business or educational initiatives, guiding others toward maximum effectiveness in very diverse contexts.

Personal LeadershipSM has been called a ‘do it yourself’ approach to developing human consciousness. Whether or not we formally lead others, we begin with leading ourselves. We engage the unfamiliar by choosing a personal internal state of ‘being’ that is energizing and enlivening. The two principles, six practices, and a process technology—The Critical Moment Dialogue—guide us in committing to this embodied experience. Focusing on individual interests and engaging your collective creativity, the workshop will include content-focused discussions and integrative conversations as well as opportunities for quiet reflection. Intentional field trips are woven throughout the workshop to assist you to fully experience and integrate the principles and practices and to anchor and embody the integration of the Personal Leadership ‘bigger picture’.

As a Participant in this Workshop You Will:

  • Engage with the two principles and six practices and learn to use them as an effective tool for taking leadership of ‘self’ when faced with challenges, decisions and ‘something’s up’ moments.
  • Learn to leverage the creative potential that inherently exists when faced with the new and unfamiliar – be it in the form of a person, project or place.
  • Create a personal or professional vision statement that assists you to stay open to inspiration, even in the midst of uncertainty and constant change.
  • Align significant personal and professional activities with your vision.
  • Practice engaging challenging situations with ‘wonder’ rather than fear.
  • Gain insights leading to taking the ‘right action’ by using the powerful process technology of the Critical Moment Dialogue and generating options for action where previously stuck.
  • Discover how to take mindful and creative responsibility for your interactions with others and to stay fully present and resourceful in any personal and professional context.
  • Meet with Balinese village leaders with a particular focus on discovering their inner world; how they lead from ‘within’; what gives them the wisdom to lead others and how they live according to that wisdom, even during challenging times, including the modernization of Bali.
  • Enjoy discussions with local Balinese artists about their connection to nature and their island; what inspires them to put paint onto canvas, carve a piece of wood, or to be fully ‘present’ in a dance
